Product Availability Insights in Google Shopping Merchant API

Gain real-time access to your competitors’ stock dynamics and market positioning with detailed product availability data in Google Shopping Merchant API.

What’s new

This update introduces a new product_availability field that provides information on the stock status of the products listed on Google Shopping. Possible values are:

  • in_stock – product is readily available for purchase.
  • limited_stock – product is available but in low quantity.
  • out_of_stock – product is currently unavailable.
  • backordered – product can be ordered but will ship when back in stock.
  • pre_order_available – product is available for pre-order before release.
  • on_display_to_order – product is displayed in a physical store but not available for immediate purchase.

How it works

When using the Sellers endpoint, you will automatically obtain the new product_availability parameter for every product_seller. In the Product Info endpoint, this field will now be included for every item (shops_list, buy_on_google).

Why it matters

This feature has a range of potential applications:
Track patterns across categories to understand market trends, supply chain constraints, or demand spikes.
Monitor pre_order_available listings to stay ahead of product releases or marketing pushes.
