How does the DataForSEO Trends algorithm work?
Our algorithm measures the popularity of specific keywords based on their association with relevant web pages, news articles, and shopping listings, as well as the popularity of each relevant piece of content. Why is the Standard data retrieval method not available for the DataForSEO Trends API?
All of the DataForSEO Trends API endpoints access data from our proprietary databases, making data retrieval nearly instantaneous. Thus, there is no need to make separate POST and GET requests.
How is the price for DataForSEO Trends API endpoints calculated?
Your account is billed only for setting a task, and the price per task depends on the endpoint. Since the number of keywords you can specify in a single task is limited to five, you will have to make 200,000 requests in order to obtain data for 1M keywords.
Given that the price for setting a task is $0.0012 for Explore, $0.0024 for Subregion Interests and Demography, and $0.006 for Merged Data, the price for 1M keywords is calculated as follows:
200,000 × 0.0012 = $240 (Explore)
200,000 × 0.0024 = $480 (Subregion Interests / Demography)
200,000 × 0.006 = $1,200 (Merged Data)
Merged Data returns all three datasets in one call. At the listed rates, its task price equals the combined price of Explore, Subregion Interests, and Demography requested separately.
