Important Changes to Google SERP API: Lite and Organic

Dear customers,

We know updates like this aren’t the most exciting to read, but we want to be transparent about an important change Google has made that impacts the Lite and Organic endpoints in the DataForSEO SERP API.

Earlier, we introduced the Google Lite option as a more cost-efficient alternative for collecting up to 100 results in a single crawl, along with an optimized pricing model for Google Organic SERP API. Unfortunately, Google has now deprecated the underlying lite technology that made this possible.

Please, rest assured that our SERP API remains fully operational, and will continue delivering high-quality and accurate search data. However, several adjustments will take effect in line with this unexpected turn.

What’s changing

Lite endpoints now return only the top 10 results per request, and, unfortunately, will be deprecated as of October 28, 2025. Please, consider switching to the Google Organic endpoints to continue retrieving data.
The Google Organic SERP API has reverted to the standard pagination mechanism again, where one page typically contains up to 10 results.
The previous cost structure for the Google Organic SERP API will be restored starting October 28, 2025 (12:00 UTC). Please, refer to our earlier update for details: Organic SERP API Pricing Changes Now in Effect.

What you need to do know

  • If you’ve been relying on the Lite endpoints and need to collect search results, please switch to the Google Organic endpoints instead.
  • We also recommend reviewing your use of the depth parameter in the Google SERP API requests to effectively plan and manage your spending under the upcoming pricing model reversion.
  • Visit our FAQ article for tips on how to control and optimize your costs.

New feature to help you reduce costs

To help you minimize crawl volume and costs, we’ve recently introduced a new stop_crawl_on_match feature. You can specify up to 10 target domains or URLs in this array, and the API will automatically stop crawling once at least one match is found, reducing unnecessary page fetches and API usage. You can learn more about this feature here.

Your trust means a lot

We understand these changes may be inconvenient and disappointing. Our team is actively exploring new ways to optimize crawl efficiency and reduce costs without compromising API performance and data quality.

We truly appreciate your understanding and continued partnership as we navigate these changes together.
